The Salvage of the Murmansk (W206)

The Murmansk was a light cruiser build by the former USSR; while being towed to India to be scrapped her towline parted during a severe winterstorm. She drifted in that same storm for a few days untill she ran aground on the rocks close to the entrance of the port of the small town of Sørvær in Norway.

Read more about her & her story (with pictures) HERE on www.uglyships.com.

She is now being salvaged, this can be followed via the specially installed 360-degree Webcam: Murmansk Salvage.

On THIS website is a gallery of images I downloaded to make a kind of Time-lapse, I’ll try to update this on a monthly base.
